River City Church runs courses on a rotating but continual basis. All courses meet at the City Rescue Mission off of I-10 on McDuff Avenue, and are typically 6-8 weeks in length. Life Course, Marriage Course, Freedom Course, and more!
Marriage Course
The River City Church Marriage Course is designed to help build and strengthen the marriage relationship and is intended for couples who have been married for at least one year. The Marriage Course consists of an appetizer / introduction evening, followed by eight Wednesday night sessions at 6:45 p.m. Dinner is provided for a charge of $5.00 per person (there is no charge for the appetizer dinner).
Topics covered include:
- Recognizing each other's needs
- The art of communication
- Resolving conflict
- The power of forgiveness
- Relating to parents and in-laws
- Good sex
- Having fun together
Each couple's privacy is respected, as there is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose information regarding their relationship to anyone else. The course, while based on Christian principles, is very helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background.
