Online Giving
When we think about giving many of us truly believe that it is something we have to do, so we "dutifully pay our tithe." It is a burden, not a joy.
What do you think about giving?
We feel like we are checking off this thing we are commanded to do, but only do out of guilt, like we are paying the electric bill. We are afraid God might cut off our "spiriticity" if we don't pay. Giving is also considered one of the "not so fun" gifts of the Christian life, that only a few really wealthy people posses. These are lies. We believe them because of what we have been taught by the world and the "Christian community. This incorrect understanding about giving leads to experiences in giving that are very negative. It is a vicious cycle only to be broken by God's grace and our properly understanding this gift everyone of us has.
God wants us to give in a way that reflects what we think about the Kingdom of God. Do we think it is the most important thing in this world? If we don't then it is probably because we have not truly experienced it.
